奥尔良大学由教皇克莱门特五世于1306年创立，为欧洲最古老的大学之一。据立思辰留学介绍，今天国立奥尔良大学重建于1960年，依靠历史上积累的国际声誉和法国政府的大力投入，迅速恢复发展，现有17000名学生，有经济法、管理、历史地理、语言、文学、外语、古代语言、数学、物理、化学、计算机、生物、地质等系科，多门学科在法国教研水平一流。
